Come and watch us milk the cows! 

We can accommodate a small group of people to come and watch us milk the cows (max 4 people per milking). Nick will be happy to show you the process and answer any questions - and may even let you have a go, if the girls are up for it! 

Milking begins in the parlour at 4.30pm, but Nick will be there from 4pm to meet you and introduce you to the cows as he brings them in from the barn. Milking lasts until about 6pm before the calves are fed, and the deep clean of the parlour begins (you don't have to stay for that bit, but you'd be welcome to if you'd like). 

Annie, who came to the last one, said the following... "The milking demo at North Aston Dairy was a brilliant experience. Nick led the demonstration by introducing us to every one of the sixteen cows as they came into the parlour and told us a little about each of them. He was calm and gentle with them, making sure to tend to their individual needs, all the while explaining how the milking system worked and what was involved. It is clear these cows are very well cared for, free to express their personalities and quirks and valued as individuals. It’s made me appreciate my milk even more now I’ve seen the hard work and dedication that goes into every bottle."
