Have you ever milked a cow? Now is your chance! Join one of our milkers at our micro-dairy in North Aston, Oxfordshire for an afternoon milking. 
 
You’ll help us bring in the cows to the milking parlour, learn about their behaviours and then we’ll give you the opportunity to milk some of the cows yourselves. Our small parlour (where just four cows are milked at once) is a perfect space for a first time experience up close with a dairy cow. In this one-to-one experience with one of our milkers, you’ll learn about all the washing that is required to safely get milk from a cow to a bottle, and also get the chance to feed our dairy calves - some say this is the best bit.
 
You’ll go home with a litre of our delicious milk as well as a first-hand understanding of what it takes to produce food on a British farm.
 
What you’ll experience:
4pm Meet the milker, intro to the farm
4.30pm Bring in the cows
5pm Milking
6pm Feed the calves
7pm Help with wash down (optional)
Go home with your delicious milk!
Farming is an unpredictable sport so these times are only indicative - but please try to arrive on time so we can make a prompt start! The cows will dictate the rest.
 
What you’ll need:
Please wear appropriate footwear for crossing uneven ground, stepping in cow poo and being sloshed with water, as well as clothes that you don’t mind getting smelly. 
No experience is needed as an experienced milker will accompany you for the whole session. Plenty of our milkers had never milked before coming to North Aston!
